  First Glimpse of Crestron Prodigy Programming
 
  39 Cent Stamp downloaded the wizard-based Prodigy Composer programming software and set up a faux system.

He says he spent about an hour configuring a four-zone system with a handheld remote, in-wall touchscreen, and iPhone and Xpanel interfaces. He included lighting and climate control in addition to A/V.

"When I was done I was able to open it [the program] in System Builder to polish it up," he writes in his WireMunky.com blog. "I don't have the hardware to test with yet so I don't know if I am really done programming after an hour."

He used the Prodigy's Destiny template and thinks it "looks very nice." That's a ringing endorsement from an uber-GUI guy.

"It appears to operate just like a System Builder-generated system," says 39. "I have to say that programming was quite painless."

Crestron told me that even editors can program Prodigy.
