A Digital Processor & Modular Amplifier: United In Sound Utopia

A powerful new combination of a digital signal processor and a multi-channel amplifier will conserve resources, time, rack space and money.

Biamp Systems’ AudiaFUSION Networked Amplified Processor offers the best of both worlds in one 3RU component:

• the features and functionality of the company’s popular Audia® digital signal processor (DSP), combined with
• a modular amplifier configurable to 2,400 watts that can be controlled and monitored.
• More than just speaker processing, the “fused” product also provides for mixing, room combining and resource sharing, all controllable on a distributed network.

Besides offering increased processing capabilities not previously available on “hybrid” components, AudiaFUSION also provides the advantages of decentralized system configuration that takes processing to the end points. Integrators can place components close to speakers, saving costs while yielding significantly improved sound quality.

Because the system operates over Ethernet, expensive, time-consuming analog wiring is drastically reduced. Additionally, in systems with multiple AudiaFUSION or AudiaFLEX units, processing can be allocated between the DSP’s across the network—allowing the integrator to “do more with less”—and components can be controlled and monitored remotely, making system management and maintenance a snap.

“AudiaFUSION is the first of its kind because it provides decentralized processing of sound, power and control data for the entire system—not just in the rack,” explains Steve Metzger, Vice President of Business Develoopment, Biamp Systems, “You can control your system costs with two systems in one product—and at the same time, expand your possibilities for future AV system development.”
